Starting a blog type website came after years, decades in fact, of close friends and relatives requesting I write a book.

One particular buddy has been a long-time encourager and fan of messages and emails shared over the years. His character is genuine, and his compass always steadied my life’s rudder at times. He always took the doubt out of the playbook. Preoccupation always prevented me to act sooner ... until now.

Bestselling author and blogger Ruth Soukup makes it plain and simple. “Just stay you”.

thingsGOsouth is about the unique and inner abstracts of who I am. I’m not saying that with conceit, believe me. I’ve humbled myself long before this. Everyone was far ahead of my ‘bringing up the rear’ rally in starting a blog at seventy.

Researching the possibilities, I became aware that my mindset has instinctively been through the combine of thinking - the chaff left behind. There’s nothing left to the influences other than simply bringing the me, to you.

Explore an array of insights, persuasions perhaps, a ruffling of feathers of such, a stirring of the pot at times. From commentary to poetic prose, stories of youth and more, through peace and wartime, songs and ballads of heart and soul, growing in spiritual well-being, the mix is a thoroughfare to who I am.

Examine the doubts and fears, the fun and folly, the deepest struggles and frustrations, the challenges and exhilaration of victories that occur throughout our journey. There lies my hope that thingsGOsouth has an antidote of clarity for your heart and mind somewhere along the way.

I Welcome you to me.
